Accused in sexual harassment cases: CI suspended

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Ernakulam Control Room SHO AV Saiju, who has been named as accused in a sexual harassment case for the second time, has been suspended following the Crime Branch investigation report.

Saiju had obtained bail from the High Court in the case of sexually abusing a woman doctor when he was a CI at the Malayinkeezhu station. Following this, the doctor complained to the government that the accused obtained bail by forging a document. The subsequent investigation conducted by the crime branch found that Saiju had forged a document along with Pradeep, a writer at the Malayinkeezhu station. Following this, Saiju and Pradeep were suspended. Head Quarters ADGP has been entrusted to take departmental action against the two.

Meanwhile, the Nedumangad police registered a case against Saiju yesterday on the complaint lodged by Saiju's family friend. In her complaint, the woman alleged that Saiju sexually harassed her by taking advantage of his friendship with her family for years.
