Korean YouTuber sexually harassed in Mumbai street during live streaming

MUMBAI: A YouTuber from South Korea was sexually harassed on a street in Mumbai on Tuesday. Mhyochi, a YouTuber from South Korea, was harassed in Khar in Mumbai in front of many people. The woman was live streaming when a young man forcefully grabbed her hand and tried to kiss her.

In the footage that went viral, the young man grabs the woman's hand while talking to her and forced her to get on his bike. Meanwhile, he also tried to kiss her. Visibly irritated, the woman constantly voices her protest. She managed to walk, but the man chased her with another person on a bike and offered her a lift. She refuses it saying that her house is nearby.

After the footage went viral, netizens demanded action against the men. The Korean woman later shared a note on social media saying that a man tried to abuse her and she tried her best to get away.

"Last night on stream, there was a guy who harassed me. I tried my best not to escalate the situation and leave because he was with his friend. And some people said that it was initiated by me being too friendly and engaging the conversation. Makes me think again about streaming.", she tweeted.

Following the incident, the Mumbai Police informed that the two youths were arrested. The police stated that they had not received an official complaint and had initiated an investigation after taking a case voluntarily. The arrested have been identified as Mobeen Chand Mohammad Shaikh and Mohammad Naqeeb Sadrealam Ansari.
