THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC president K Sudhakaran has come out justifying the protesters in the attack on Vizhinjam police station. According to Sudhakaran, the attack on the police station was only a counter-attack in response to the attack on the fishermen. Sudhakaran, who linked the incident with the liberation struggle, criticized the government.
"If you hit, you will get backlash. Remember the liberation struggle. CPIM should think whether another liberation struggle should take place in Kerala. If things go like this, there will be a new liberation struggle. The Congress party is with the poor fishermen," Sudhakaran said.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan clarified that the government will not back down from the Vizhinjam project under any circumstances. Speaking at a public function held at Ayyankali Hall in Thiruvananthapuram, he said that the demand of the strike committee to stop the project cannot be accepted.
