Wild elephant attack in Attappadi, Adivasi youth killed

PALAKKAD: An Adivasi youth was killed in a wild elephants attack in Attappadi's Sholayur. The deceased is Lakshmanan (45) of Oothukuzhi village. The incident happened around 5 am on Saturday. The wild elephants attacked while he was leaving the house. The animal had been present in the area for a few days. Lakshmanan is the fourth person to be killed by a wild elephant in Attapadi in four months.

Two months ago, four people were injured in a wild elephant attack in Attapadi. The attack took place in Doddugatti of Puthoor panchayat. Murukesan, Selvan, Palani Swamy and Panali, natives of Doddugatti, were seriously injured. They were traveling on two bikes when they were attacked by an elephants that came near the village.
