kk

MUMBAI: A young man had recently national attention by marrying twin sisters the other day. Mumbai native Atul U. Avtade got married to two identical twin sisters, Rinky M. Padgaonkar and Pinky M. Padgaonkar last Friday. The videos of the marriage had gone viral on social media.

However, a recent report claimed that the police have registered a case against the youth after the video of the marriage went viral on social media. The police took the action on the grounds that it is illegal to remarry while the first spouse is still living or without first filing for divorce. Meanwhile, some reports are also claiming that Atul was already a much-married man and his first wife lodged a complaint against him regarding his new marriage.

The Maharashtra Women's Commission has also come forward against the marriage. At the same time, some argue that the law should be relaxed if the twin sisters married Atul of their own free will.
