THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Fr. Eugene Pereira, Vicar General of the Latin Archdiocese, said that the strike committee has was no complete satisfaction even though a compromise was reached in the consensus discussion in the Vizhinjam anti-port strike. Speaking to the media, Vicar General said that the strike committee had made a compromise to settle the strike. Eugene Pereira stated that the strike committee turned down the offer of Rs 2,500 from Adani's CSR fund and suggested that the government should pay Rs 5,500 per month in rent.

"Not all struggles and all demands will succeed. The same thing happened in the Vizhinjam struggle as well. We all saw that the central government's withdrawal of three bills caused the farmers' strike in Delhi to be temporarily called off. There is a need to create awareness among the public about the situation in Vizhinjam," Eugene Pereira said.
