15-year-old boy beaten up by drug mafia gang in Varkala after refusing to smoke ganja beedi

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 15-year-old boy who refused to smoke ganja beedi was allegedly beaten up by drug mafia gang. The incident took place at Edavapuram in Varkala on December 2. Due to the beating, the child was admitted to the medical college hospital with bleeding from the ears and nose.

As per the complaint, the boy, who went near a pond to take a bath, was forced to smoke ganja beedi by Sayed, Vishnu, Hussain and Al Amin, natives of Ayiroor. But the boy refused and came home and informed the family. Enraged by this, the four-member group came to the boy's home the next day and brutally beat him up. Then the child, who was bleeding from the ear and other places, became unconscious and was admitted to the hospital. A case has been registered against all the four persons in the incident, but no arrest has been made.,
