Actress Anjali Ameer has come out in support of Bala’s accusation that he and the crew members of the movie ‘Shafeekkinte Santhosham’ were not paid remuneration for their work. In a FB post, the actress said that there seems to be errors in the figures given by Unni Mukundan, which he said includes the remuneration given to Bala.
In the FB post, the actress said she supports Bala because in an industry where junior actors are given Rs.3000 to Rs.5000 there seems to be an inconsistency when an actor like Bala is given only Rs.10,000 per day. Moreover, the the figures given by Unni Mukundan as remuneration to others, in comparison to Bala’s remuneration, seems to be inconsistent and out of sync.
Actor Bala had said in an interview that even if his remuneration is not given, the rest of the crew must be paid. He said that even the director of the movie, Anoop Pandalam, were not paid. He added that he is not going to give any complaint but Unni Mukundan must become more efficient.
Bala continued that he doesn’t wish to bring punishment to Unni Mukundan. But doing movies by cheating others is not good.
Following this revelation, the director of the movie came out in support of Unni Mukundan and said that he received his remuneration correctly, and he believes that the other technicians were also paid accordingly.
Anoop Pandalam said that Bala was recommended by Unni Mukundan for the role in the movie. And he did that character very well and was lauded by the audience. Everyone is happy that the movie performed well and is a success. He added that he is disappointed that his name is dragged into this controversy at this time.
