THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: On the heels of saying that Muslim League is not a communal party, the CPI(M) State Secretary, MV Govindan, has now praised Muslim League’s stance on the Governor issue. He said that the Muslim League took the correct stand. RSP also took the same position. This isolated the Congress in the UDF.

This forced the UDF to take a favorable position towards the bill in the assembly. When League takes the right stand it must be welcomed, said MV Govindan.

On Friday, the communist leader had said that Muslim League is not a communal party. He also said that to fight communalism the communist party would join hands with anyone. He made it clear that there are no permanent enemies in politics.

The Congress had come against the statement of MV Govindan.

The CPI also expressed its dissatisfaction with the communist leader’s remarks. The party said that though Muslim League is not communal as SDPI or the Popular Front, there was no need to give a good certificate to a party in the opposite camp.

Meanwhile, Minister, PA Muhammed Riyas, said that those dissatisfied in UDF will come to LDF. In Kerala, UDF is working like the B Team of BJP. Those with a secular mind are not happy in UDF. Many Congress leaders are following what the BJP likes. Those who are not happy with it will naturally move to LDF.
