NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has rejected the review petition filed by Dr. Rajasree MS in the Supreme Court against the verdict quashing her appointment as vice chancellor of the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. However, the bench comprising Justices MR Shah and CT Ravikumar said in its order rejecting the petition that no stance regarding the salary and benefits received by Rajasree so far has been clarified in the judgment canceling the appointment. Rajasree will not be entitled to the pension of VC. In the order, the bench said that as per the rules, the chancellor's representative is not required in the search committee to find the vice-chancellor of the technological university.

The apex court also rejected Rajasree's demand not to give retrospective effect to the verdict. In the petition, Dr. Rajasree pointed out that if there was any wrongdoing in the selection committee for the appointment of VC, she was a victim of it. Dr. Rajasree had said in the petition she was humiliated in front of the students, colleagues and society after the decision to quash her appointment. Meanwhile, the petition filed by the state government against the verdict in the Supreme Court has not yet been listed.
