THRISSUR: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that the central government has initiated its plan in Kerala as well to saffronise the higher education sector in various ways. He was inaugurating the concluding session of the National Conference of All India Kisan Sabha.
"The Centre, which is filling the education sector with communal poison, tried to brainwash the students in Kerala as well. However, people in the state recognized that. Those who haven't recognized it will recognize it soon. What must be opposed must be opposed. Farmers are not safe in the country. The reason is globalization and liberalization policies. After the GATT agreement, the UPA government came up with the ASEAN agreement. The suicides of farmers increased. Farmers started protesting against the Modi government's policies against farmers. The Left-wing also led the strike. Modi and Union ministers knelt before the strike. Modi is again implementing an anti-farmer policy and helping monopolies. The Centre is not doing anything to help farmers. It is destroying secularism. Citizenship should not be given on the basis of religion. The Centre is threatening a section of people from time to time by announcing the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act. By dividing the people, the country will collapse. Congress is not protesting against this," Pinarayi Vijayan said.
AIKS national president Ashok Dhawale presided over the function. AC Moideen MLA, AIKS General Secretary Viju Krishnan, EP Jayarajan, T Venkit, Hannan Mollah, Ministers KN Balagopal, K. Radhakrishnan, R. Bindu, Karshaka Sangham leaders M Vijayakumar, Vatsan Panoli and others participated.
