Two killed in bus-bike collision in capital city

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two people were killed after a private bus collided with a bike. The accident happened Wednesday morning at 7:30 am at Palode Sami Mukku on the state highway. The dead have been identified as Vishnu (25) of Punalur and another youth is yet to be identified.

An old woman died in a car accident in Kollam while returning after dropping her son-in-law at the airport. She has been identified as Ananda Selvi, a native of Achanpudur in Tenkasi. The accident happened near Puliyara Isakki Amman Temple yesterday at around 4:30 am. The car lost control and overturned when swerved after seeing a cow jumping across. Ananda Selvi, who was lying covered in mud, was pulled out and taken to the hospital but her life could not be saved.
