Mother, daughter strangled to death after injecting them with drugs, hospital staff taken into custody

AHMEDABAD: A mother and daughter were found dead inside the operation theatre of a hospital. The incident took place at the ENT hospital near Bhulabhai Park in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The deceased have been identified as 30-year-old Bharti Vala and her mother Champa. Bharti's body was found in the cupboard of the operation theater and Champa's under the bed. The police said that both of them came to the hospital for Bharti's treatment.

Bharti's dead body was found during a search conducted by the hospital staff after a stench began to emanate from the hospital. The police was informed and when they came and checked, Champa's body was also found under the bed. The preliminary assumption is that they were murdered.

Mansukh, a hospital employee, was taken into custody by the police in connection with the incident. The police say that he has previous acquaintance with the deceased and that the accused called them to the hospital when the doctor was not available and strangled them to death after injecting them with drugs. The police said that the post-mortem report of the dead bodies will be available soon and a detailed investigation is underway into the incident.
