THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An audio clip has come out in which Divya Jyothi, the first accused in the Titanium job fraud case, can be heard telling those who paid for the job that she had sent 31 persons to Travancore Titanium for job interviews. In this audio clip, Divya can be heard saying that 30 people were interviewed by Legal Deputy General Manager Sasikumaran Thampi and one by MD Georgee Ninan.

This has led to suspicions being raised about Titanium MD. All candidates were brought to Titanium through Premkumar and Shyamlal. Georgee Ninan clarified that he had not interviewed anyone. Following the allegations, the opposition labour organizations of Titanium staged a protest before the MD's office demanding his resignation. It is reported that more evidence will soon surface as the MD's name is brought up.

After the special team started the investigation, another person lodged a complaint alleging that the accused had embezzled Rs 10 lakh from him. The Cantonment Police have registered a case on the complaint of this Thiruvananthapuram native. With this, there are complaints of cheating of 70 lakh rupees in nine cases.8 cases are under the jurisdiction of the city police. The Venjarammoodu police arrested Divya in a case that came under rural limits.

Meanwhile, Divya told the media that she was framed. Divya said this when the police brought her to the house of the fourth accused Shyamlal for evidence. The police produced Divya in Nedumangad court after the custody period came to an end. The investigation team will soon approach the court to seek custody of Divya.

Sasikumaran Thampi and the other defendants in the case remain at large. A team comprising Cantonment SHO Shafi BM, Poojappura SHO Roj R and Museum CI Dharmajit PS is investigating the case under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner Dinil.

Probe leading to political leaders as well
Allegations have become strong that CPM leaders, who had previously worked in connection with Titanium, are also involved in job fraud. Labour leaders say that the party district committee should take the matter seriously.
