MUMBAI: The BCCI has dismissed the selection panel of the Indian cricket team after the team's poor performance in the T20 World Cup. The board had invited applications to these vacant posts. Many prominent names are in the running for the post of selection panel head.
Meanwhile, there are reports of fake applications coming to BCCI. There are many such applications even in the name of Sachin Tendulkar and former Indian skipper Dhoni, Virender Sehwag, and even former Pakistan skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq.
Following the failure in the T20 World Cup, the selection panel led by Chetan Sharma was removed from the position under the leadership of BCCI president Roger Binny. After that, applications were invited to the five-member panel. A three-member committee called the Cricket Advisory Committee is responsible for selecting the panel. Chetan Sharma and Harvinder Singh of the ousted panel have applied again.
