DYFI leader presents trophy to Akash Thillankeri, whom CPM described as head of gold smuggling quotation, pic out

KANNUR: A picture of the DYFI leader presenting a trophy to Akash Thillenkery, whom the CPM described him as the head of the gold smuggling quotation, has surfaced. DYFI state joint secretary and central committee member M Shajar presented the trophy to Akash Thillenkery, former cyber warrior of CPM and accused in the murder case of congress activist Shuhaib. M Shajar presented Akash the trophy of the cricket match held in Thillenkery.

The DYFI had conducted a vehicle campaign rally in Kannur including Thillankeri, demanding the isolation of Akash, the head of the quotation drug trafficking gang. Akash was presented the trophy by M Shajar, who participated in the rally that day. Meantime, M Shajar has given an explanation that he will respond to the matter later as the incident is turning controversial.

Akash is also a close friend of Arjun Ayanki, the accused in the Karipur gold smuggling case. After the arrest of Ayanki, the customs raided the house of Akash in Thillankeri. After the CPM raised voice against Arjun Ayanki and Akash soon after they were arrested in the Karipur gold smuggling, both of them had criticized the party and the DYFI. The DYFI leaders had filed a complaint against this to the Kannur City Police Commissioner and this was discussed.
