KOCHI: The list of the assets owned by the famous Guruvayur Temple are out. The temple has deposits of Rs 1737.04 crores in various banks. The temple also owns 271.05 acres of land. The Guruvayur Devaswom disclosed the property information in response to the Right to Information request filed by M K Haridas, president of the Ernakulam-based Proper Channel, seeking devaswom's assets.

Meantime, the value of gems, gold and silver has not been disclosed. Guruvayur Devaswom informed the court that they are not disclosing it due to security reasons. M K Haridas filed an appeal against this.

In the meanwhile, the high court order to return Rs 10 crore given by Guruvayur Devaswom to the chief minister's relief fund after the flood disaster of 2018-19 has not yet been complied with, said the devaswom. The full bench of the high court had ruled that the money given by the devotees to the Guruvayur temple should be used only for their welfare.
