NEW DELHI: Amid growing Covid concerns, the central government has made RT-PCR negative test results mandatory for those coming from six countries including China. One should upload the test result on Air Suvidha before travel. This system will come into effect from the first of next month.

Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandavya tweeted that from January 1, 2023, RTPCR test results have been made mandatory for those coming from China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Thailand.

The directive of the Union Health Minister comes at a time when the number of Covid cases is increasing in several countries. Covid cases are on the rise in India too. The Union Health Ministry had informed yesterday that there is a possibility of a spike in the number of Covid cases in the country by mid-January and that the next 40 days are crucial and vigilance is required.
