kk

NEW DELHI: Union Minister Rajeev Chandrashekhar said that online betting will be banned in the country. According to the draft guidelines released by the central government, an age-limit will be imposed for using online games, and those below 18 years of age will need parental consent.

The government is trying to release online gaming rules by February. The comments on draft rules can be informed from next week onwards. “As per the principles laid under the rule, wagering on the outcome of game will not be allowed. All online gaming companies will have to register with the self-regulatory body that will decide on the action required to be taken as per the rules.”, the minister said. The guidelines also state that the safety of women should be ensured on the gaming platforms.
