26-year-old mother of two gang-raped by 20-year-old lover and friends on New Year’s Day

CHENNAI: A 26-year-old woman was gang-raped by three men in Tamil Nadu on Sunday. The incident was reported in Pularambakkam near Thiruvallur. The accused have been arrested by the police. One of the accused took the woman to a secluded house on the pretext of going shopping and raped her.

The police informed that the complainant, a 26-year-old woman, mother of two, was in a relationship with 20-year-old Vijayakumar, one of the accused. The woman was not living with her husband and wished to get a divorce. She wanted to marry Vijayakumar. On New Year’s Day, he took her out on pretext of going shopping to buy her a sari. Then the youth took her to a secluded house and raped her. His two other friends, Samraj (27) and Sathish (27) were also in the house and they also raped her. The police have recorded the trio’s arrest.
