THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Saji Cheriyan has been sworn in as a minister in the Kerala Cabinet once again in a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan. Governor Arif Mohammad Khan administered the oath. Saji Cheriyan's return to the cabinet is after 182 days.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, LDF convener EP Jayarajan, Speaker AN Shamseer and other ministers attended the function. As per indications, Saji Cheriyan will take over as the Minister of Fisheries, Culture, Cinema and Youth Welfare Departments. The opposition boycotted the function.
Saji Cheriyan had to resign as minister on July 6 following his anti-constitution speech. The governor gave permission for the oath only on the Chief Minister's assurance that there won't be any legal issues.
