KOZHIKODE: Minister of education V.Sivankutty has reignited talks regarding non-veg dishes during the school festival held at Kozhikode. While confirming the availability of non-veg dishes for the next year’s festival, the minister rued for not bringing in Kozhikode's favorite biriyani at this year’s venue. The minister further insisted on the liberty to choose food and left it for the people to choose their side of culinary cravings next year.

The school festival in Kozhikode marked a success after people thronged in thousands to watch the talents unfurl. It is after a hiatus of two years that a school festival is held in Kerala. Almost 10000 people are said to have eaten from the refectory provided inside the festival premises. The government looks keen to script history next year, by crossing the 10000 mark, and plans to invite Guinness officials to Kerala to record the happening. The minister also commented on the syncretic culture of foods that the people of Kerala cherish.
