RANCHI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has made another crucial announcement ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Shah said that Maoists will be wiped out from the country before the 2024 elections. The Union Minister made the statement against the Maoists while addressing the Maha Sankalp rally held in Chaibasa, Jharkhand.
Amit Shah also claimed that the number of Naxal cases reported in the country has come down ever since the BJP came to power.
"2,258 Naxal cases were reported in 2019 when the Congress was ruling. The number has come down to 509 in 2021," Amit Shah said.
Figures show that Maoist issues are severe in villages in Jharkhand which share boundaries with Chhattisgarh. A large part of the tribal population of the state resides in these villages. It is estimated that Amit Shah made a political announcement targeting them.
