PALAKKAD: Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has dismissed the driver who caused the accident killing two youths in Kuzhalmandam. The KSRTC dismissed the driver identified as C L Ousep, a native of Peechi. The incident happened on February 7 in 2022. Ousep was the driver of a fast passenger bus proceeding to Vadakkencherry from Palakkad. Even though there was room to pass on the left side of the road, the bus deliberately drove to the right and hit the youths on bikes. The youths were killed instantly by the rear wheels of the bus.

In the dismissal order, KSRTC said that Ousep has committed such misconduct and reckless driving in the past also. KSRTC in the order issued said that if he continues in service, more human lives will be lost and his action has brought disrepute to the KSRTC.

In the internal investigation conducted by the KSRTC, he justified his side, but the visuals from the dash cam of the car that was following the bus at the time of the accident proved that Ousep intentionally caused the accident. KSRTC decided to fire him after the end of the investigation.
