Air travel halted in US; all flights grounded due to system glitch

NEW YORK: Air traffic in the United States has been suspended due to technical glitch. International media reported that all domestic and international services in the country have been grounded immediately. The preliminary conclusion is that the disruption in the communication system, which transmits messages for safe air travel, has caused this. It is reported that the total ban on air travel has directly affected 760 flights and about a thousand passengers.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, flight services were halted due to a malfunction affecting the update of NOTAM system, that is used to facilitate air travel and transmit danger warnings. The technical glitch appeared in the Air Mission System of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which regulates air traffic in the US. The FAA has informed on its official website that the system cannot be updated to transmit messages.

The authorities have not yet released other details on the reason behind the technical glitch or how much flight services have been affected. Due to the uncertainty regarding this, travelers have expressed the protests even in social media. Aviation experts are of the opinion that such a problem have not occurred the recent past.
