Nurse death due to Alfaham in Kottayam; disappeared hotel owner finally arrested

KOTTAYAM: The owner of the hotel responsible for the shocking death of a nurse due to food poisoning in Kottayam has been arrested. The owner of PARK hotel in Sankranthi has been finally nabbed from Kamanahalli in Bengaluru. The main chef of the hotel, a Malappuram native named Muhammed Sirajudheen was arrested just days after the incident. A case of homicide was registered against him.

After a check, it was found that the hotel never adhered to any kind of safety measures. Punitive actions followed later with the suspension of Kottayam health supervisor M R Sanu who renewed the license of the unkempt hotel. It was on December 29 that Rashmi raj, a nurse from Kottayam medical college dined at this hotel for an AL-faham. Later on, she felt uneasy and was shifted to a hospital where she met her death on January 2nd. The owner of the hotel was at large since the incident.
