No one but Modi who will lead BJP in 2024: Amit Shah

NEW DELHI: With no sly warnings or hints, Home minister Amit Shah went guileless and made it certain that it will be Narendra Modi leading the BJP in the fight for the 2024 parliamentary elections. Shah was responding to Nobel laureate Amartya Sen's remark that Mamata Banerjee Is the best fit to sit on the biggest throne of the country. Sen has also warned the ruling BJP about a strong coalition of regional parties that can make a serious dent in the saffron party's prospects in the 2024 elections.

In a proper retort aimed at Amartya Sen, the home minister pointed out the Gujarat election results as the best answer for all opposing voices in the country. Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also gave a sly hint of a Narendra Modi-led BJP in the coming elections.

Amit shah exerting confidence on the public stage says a lot about what is running behind the curtains. BJPs parent organization RSS has not responded to Shah’s claim. The silence from RSS should be more seen as an acquiescence to what the home minister said. Narendra Modi has been a favorable face for both RSS and NDA. In the coming months, BJP looks to foster its image among the public by talking more about the array of election promises that Narendra Modi made real after turning PM.
