Congress reorganization committees: High command includes 14 leaders following complaints

kk

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The high command intervened and made changes in the committees appointed at the district levels for the reorganization of the state Congress.

The issue was that 14 members of the 22-member executive committee were rejected and only 8 members were included in the reorganization committees of various districts. The high command intervened and rectified after AICC general secretaries KC Venugopal and Tariq Anwar raised complaint. With this, the district level reorganization committees will have more members.

Executive committee members M Murali, Johnson Abraham, Varkala Kahar, Manakkad Suresh, D Sugathan, Anil Akkara, Koshi M Kosi, Shanawaz Khan, KP Haridas, PR Sona, Jyoti Kumar Chamakala, George Mamman Kondoor, Jaison Joseph and PJ Joy approached the high command with a complaint. Following this, they were included in the reorganization committees of their own districts.

KPCC currently has 30 office bearers and 22 executive committee members. There are also vacancies due to the demise of PT Thomas, Prathapavarma Thamban and treasurer Pratap Chandran. Meanwhile, with the KPCC reorganization taking place soon, there is uncertainty as to whether all the current office bearers will continue in the same position.
