NEW DELHI: India’s top wrestlers have levelled sexual assault allegations against Wrestling Federation of India president and BJP leader Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Wrestlers including Olympic medal winner Sakshi Malik, Vineta Phogat, Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia raised the allegations that Brij Bhushan, and the coaches sexually assaulted female wrestlers.

“The girls were sexually exploited in the training camp. WFI is even interfering in our personal lives.”, alleged the wrestlers during their protest in Delhi. The wrestlers demanded justice and said that they faced mental harassment from the coaches and the federation president is supporting this. They held a press conference after conducting a protest in Jantar Mantar in Delhi.

Vinesh Phogat said that Brij Bhushan behaved in an insulting manner to him after the defeat in Tokyo Olympics. Phogat said that if anything happens to any wrestler, then WFI president will be responsible. Wrestler Bajrang Punia stated that the people heading the federation have no connection with sports and demanded that the Prime Minister should intervene in the matter.

Meanwhile, Brij Bhushan denied these allegations.
