Prudence that came belatedly

kk

The present condition of Pakistan is very deplorable. The country is on the brink of economic collapse. All but the wealthy are left hungry and impoverished as gas and wheat become scarce. Apart from that, there are massive attacks from Taliban terrorists. Those who used to carry out terrorist attacks against India standing shoulder to shoulder are now attacking each other. In the meantime, Pakistan cannot think of even the slightest confrontation with India. Not to mention the war.

Things are also in turmoil in China. Pakistan will not get help from China like before. Several people, including Pakistan's army chief and prime minister, are begging for money in front of Gulf countries such as Saudi Arabia. Pakistan's problems will not get solved just by receiving money. Starving people in the country are no longer interested in the anti-India campaign. Moreover, even the people of Pakistan have realized that India is rising as a world power not by spreading anti-Pakistan campaigns but because of good governance. At this stage, Pakistani leaders are realizing that there is no point in hiding the truth. Former Prime Minister Imran Khan spoke in praise of India and it was a start. India considers such statements as proof that Pakistani leaders are coming to their senses, albeit belatedly.

During his recent visit to the UAE, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif openly said that Pakistan learned lessons from its wars with India and that these wars only brought misery, poverty and unemployment to his country. This can be considered an honest statement. "We have engineers, doctors and skilled workers. All of them should be put to use. For that, peace is needed. We should decide ourselves whether we want to make progress peacefully or waste time fighting each other," Sharif said. The reports that India is planning to seize Pakistan-occupied Kashmir without any discussion may have prompted the Pak Prime Minister to open up about this reality.

India's stance is that it will not hold any talks with Pakistan as long as Pakistan continues to help terrorists. Meanwhile, the UN Security Council has declared Pakistani terrorist Abdul Rehman Makki as a global terrorist. This is a victory for Indian diplomacy. This is the first time that a terrorist has been declared a global terrorist by the UN for attacking India. It also reveals the importance of India's stance and position in the world community. China's withdrawal from its earlier stance in this regard is also being regarded as a victory for India. Thus, it can be inferred that the statement of the Prime Minister of Pakistan may be based on the realization that India, which is making huge leaps in the economic and diplomatic fields, can no longer be threatened in the name of war. Prudence is a good thing even though it is coming belatedly.
