‘Rahul Gandhi is smart and not a pappu,’ says former RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan

NEW DELHI: Rahul Gandhi is not a pappu but a smart human being, said former RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan. Picturing Rahul as pappu is unfortunate, added the former governor.

‘I have spent many years, say close to a decade, with him on various fronts. He is no way a pappu. He is young and a smart human being. He is an efficient person. I attended Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Rahul as I stand for the values the yatra is about,’ said the former governor.

After participating in the Jodo Yatra, Raghuram had said that 2023 will be difficult for the Indian economy and the rest of the world and that the country has failed to create the necessary reforms for growth. He added that policies should be formulated keeping in mind the middle class who are suffering the most due to the Covid pandemic. Raghuram spoke about creating an enabling environment for small and medium enterprises and emphasizing green revolution in the sustainable energy sector.
