Wildlife board meeting: Populated areas will be excluded from wildlife sanctuaries

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Populated areas such as Thattekad Bird Sanctuary, Pampa Valley and Angel Valley have been excluded from wildlife sanctuaries. The decision was taken by the meeting of the state wildlife board chaired by the Chief Minister. The meeting decided to take steps to exclude the populated areas within the Thattekad bird sanctuary from the bird sanctuary. Steps will be taken to exclude Pampa Valley and Angel Valley areas of the Periyar Tiger Reserve from the limits of the tiger reserve.

Forest Minister AK Saseendran, Poonjar MLA Sebastian Kulathunkal, Forest Department Chief Bennichan Thomas, Chief Wildlife Warden Ganga Singh, and others participated in the meeting.
