Not even Chairperson of Women’s Commission safe in Delhi

delhi

The culprit who attacked Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) Chief has been caught. 47-year-old Harish Chandra living in south Delhi's Sangam Vihar dragged Swati Maliwal for 15 meters after getting her hand stuck to the car's window. The police were asked to submit a report to the National Commission for Women.
Swati Maliwal who was inspecting the situation of women's security in Delhi went through this experience at 3 am close to Delhi AIIMS. Harish Chandra who was drunk made gestures at Swati indicating for her to get in the car. When she reprimanded him he left but came back again and repeated his gestures. Swathi tried to catch hold of Harish after getting a signal from her team members and that's when Harish rolled up the window and drove away dragging Swati with him. When her team members made a scene harish was forced to roll down the window. Following that Swati informed the police control room and Harish was arrested.

'I wanted to see whether there have been any changes in the situation of women's safety since Anjali’s death by accident. Thank god, otherwise, something like Anjali would’ve happened to me. If Delhi Commission of Women chairperson isn’t safe, imagine the state of others' explained Swati Maliwal
