Children arrive to have a last glimpse of their mother; to perform Asha’s last rites

THRISSUR: The children were brought to have a last glimpse of their mother Asha, who committed suicide in Pavaratti. Her in-laws earlier opposed the children from seeing her body.

The children were brought in the presence of the police. The children will perform their mother’s last rites. Her family had alleged that she took the extreme step following the harassment of her in-laws.

She attempted to commit suicide by consuming rosary peas on January 12. She died on January 17 while undergoing treatment. Her husband Santhosh and her relatives were beside her at the time of her death. The couple got married 12 years ago.
