THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: DGP Anil Kant has sought a report about the policemen accused in serious crimes, including sexual harassment. The DGP has asked the heads of the respective units to submit a report on the police officers by 5 pm on Tuesday.

The other day, the DGP had directed heads of the units to take strong action against the criminals in the police force. This was followed by the directive to prepare the list of policemen named accused in criminal cases. IGs, DIGs, city police commissioners, district police chiefs and others have been asked to prepare the list of accused.

Meanwhile, 24 SHOs were transferred across the state on Saturday. Officers were also appointed instead of the CIs, who faced action in the name of their links with gangsters. Siju KL Nair has been appointed as the new SHO in Mangalapuram station. SS Suresh Babu has been appointed in place of the suspended Pettah CI Riyas Raja.
