PALAKKAD: SDPI leader who was brutally killed months before the infamous hartal in September has received a notice from the revenue department calling for attaching his house. Earlier, the government hastened the move to attach immovable assets of PFI leaders to compensate for the destruction of public property that happened in the unannounced PFI hartal in September. Palakkad native Subair was killed on April 15 nearby his house by assailants in the car. Seven RSS workers were later convicted of this crime.
The High court previously questioned the lukewarm approach of the government in taking action against the PFI workers. The reenergized government then went full throttle in attaching immovable assets of PFI workers involved in the hartal. It is estimated that a total of 5.2 crores worth of loss was incurred to the government on that hartal day.
As of now, the revenue department says there is no erring in the process, as the department works according to the list given to them by the home department of Kerala. Subair's parents, wife, and three children now live in the house. The family plans to approach the court to solve the dilemma.
