ALAPPUZHA: Many mistakes it for the parkours stunts that are irreplaceable in Hollywood stunts. But the young athletes flexing moves in Alappuzha beach are not training parkour, but something more enduring than the famed Hollywood stunt. This martial arts form is called Tricking. For mastering this, a sylphlike body is a need with a flexing capability that can make sure your body gyrates any moves. K A Anoop from Kuthirapanthy in Alappuzha learned the martial arts form through the internet. Now he is imparting his hard-earned knowledge to students who train at Alappuzha beach.
A trained Kalari performer, at the tender age of thirteen, Anoop was approached by foreign tourists in awe of the young man's movements in the traditional martial arts form. The tourist suggested he move into tricking which they thought Anoop could master with ease. The predictions were not more accurate, as Anoop traveled in the quest to know and learn more about Tricking. Now, 28-year-old Anoop is one of the few officially recognized Tricking practitioners in India. Anoop currently works as a sales executive in a dental lab in Ernakulam.
