Child marriage in Nedumangad: Accused in two rape cases marries 16-year-old, three people including girl's father arrested

NEDUMANGAD: Three people, including the father of a 16-year-old girl, have been arrested for conducting the marriage of the minor girl. The incident took place in Nedumangad in Thiruvananthapuram. The other two arrested persons are a youth from Panavoor and Ustad Ansar Sawat, who officiated the child marriage.

Al Ameen, a native of Panavoor, was the one who married the child. According to the police, Al Ameer is an accused in two rape cases and an assault case. In 2021, Al Ameen had sexually abused the girl, the bride in the child marriage. He had served four months in jail in this case.
