Police arrest folk singer accused of abusing minor girl he met on Facebook

VATTAPPARA: A man who sexually abused a 16-year-old girl he met through Facebook was arrested. The arrested has been identified as Vishnu (22) of Kunnil House in Konchira Udayan Parakonam. He befriended the girl through Facebook two years ago. He used to call her on the phone when her mother is away. The accused abused the girl after bringing the girl to his house in Vattapara.

The man, who is a folk singer, was arrested following a complaint received by the police that he took the girl, who is a minor, from her house on January 15 and is living with her in his own house. The Vattapara police recorded the girl's statement and produced the accused in court.
