Gold worth Rs 48 lakh smuggled in capsule form seized at Nedumbassery airport

KOCHI: The customs has seized 1062 grams of smuggled gold worth Rs 48 lakh at Nedumbassery airport. The officials have nabbed Sahin, a native of Palakkad who came from Dubai. The gold was smuggled in the form of four capsules.

833 grams of gold worth Rs 38 lakh smuggled using condoms was seized from Nedumbassery airport yesterday. Customs seized the gold from Palakkad resident Mohammad, who came from Dubai. The gold was concealed in the rectum in three condoms.

Recently, gold worth around Rs 3 crore was seized from Karipur airport.
