Actor Dharmajan Bolgatty has come out with an open letter to director Adoor Gopalakrishnan. In his Facebook post, Dharmajan stated that he has nothing to say to Adoor who sees Mohanlal as "rowdy". He also stated that Mohanlal is a great person for him and others.

'Mohanlal is a great person for us. Adoor sir recently said that he sees Mohanlal as a rowdy. He might not have seen the good films of Lal sir. Sir, there are many movies where Mohanlal acted as a commoner like 'Aye Auto, TP Balagopalan MA, Vellanakalude Nadu, Kireedam etc. Adoor sir, you can cast anyone you want in your film, but don't use bad words against Laletan,' Dharmajan wrote.

Recently, Adoor Gopalakrishnan had sparked a controversy by making a remark about Mohanlal in an interview. Adoor, who said that he sees Mohanlal as a "good rowdy", added that would never make a film with the actor.
