Nayana Surya death: Items that went missing from room found, crucial evidence found in investigation of Crime Branch

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police have found the items that went missing from director Nayana Surya's room after her death. The bed sheet, pillow and clothes used by Nayana have been found. The items were found in the evidence storage room of the Museum police station. The items were found during a search conducted by the police as per the request of the crime branch. Meanwhile, the clothes worn by Nayana at the time of her death have not been found.

There was controversy around the disappearance of the mainour kept at the Museum station. The court had handed over Nayana's churidar, underwear, pillow case and blanket to the Museum police for safekeeping.

Nayana was found dead in a rented house near Althara Junction in Vellayambalam on the night of 23 February 2019. The museum police had given a report stating that Nayana might have committed suicide. The incident became more mysterious after the autopsy report revealed that the cause of death was an injury on the neck. The crime branch is now re-investigating the case.
