SRINAGAR: Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi will resume today with tight security after it was suspended temporarily on Friday. The journey will start from Anantnag at 9 am.
The decision to resume the yatra was taken after officials gave assurances on security matters. Women will be at the forefront of the foot march. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi may be a part of the yatra. Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti will join the Yatra. The yatra will cover a distance of 21 km on Saturday and will end at Pulwama.
The forces may give new instructions as they are appraching areas with security problems. There is also the option to carry out a short distance of the tour by car. The Bharat Jodo Yatra concludes in Srinagar on Monday.
