Life Mission scam; M Sivasankar receives notice, should appear before ED on Tuesday

KOCHI: Chief Minister’s former principal secretary M Sivasankar has received a notice from Enforcement Directorate to appear for questioning. He has been directed to appear in Kochi on Tuesday.

The ED has registered a case based on the revelation of Santhosh Eapen, the owner of Unitech, that he has paid Rs 4 crore 48 lakh as bribe to get Life Mission contract. The ED found that Swapna Suresh, the mediator and the accused in gold smuggling case received Rs 1 crore. They found that this black money was found in Swapna’s locker. The ED had earlier questioned Swapna and Sarith, a former officer in UAE Consulate.

Santhosh Eapen and Sandeep Nair, the accused in gold smuggling case, was earlier questioned by ED. Although, the CBI had registered a case in Life Mission issue, the probe is not progressing.
