KOCHI: The high court has asked for an affidavit from the Sabarimala executive officer regarding the dubious nature of giving fireworks contracts to Thrissur native M S Sheena. Justice Anil K Narendran and justice P G Ajithkumar headed bench came to this decision in the wake of the fireworks mishap that took one life in Sabarimala. Following the incident, the high court had canceled the explosive license of M S Sheena.

The Thrissur police cheif previously made a critical report of the accused which was never considered by the Thrissur ADM while giving an explosive license to Sheena. The Thrissur ADM requested the court to grant an extension to hear his side of the argument. Regarding the incident, the Pathanamthitta collector has issued a notice to the Sabarimala executive officer which has not yet received a favorable response. The petition will be considered by the court on February 7th. It is also pertinent for the Pathanamthitta collector to give an affidavit to the court.
