Sexual harassment in ashram; controversial godman Asaram Bapu guilty 

AHMEDABAD: Asaram Bapu, the godman accused in serial sexual harassment cases, has been found guilty by the court. The order of the Gandhinagar sessions court was based on a complaint of harassment filed 10 years ago. He is currently serving a life sentence in another rape case.

A native of Surat filed a molestation complaint against Bapu in 2003. It was alleged that she was sexually assaulted continuously at the ashram in Motera, Ahmedabad. The court concluded the trial and found him guilty under sections 376 (c) and 377 for the series of rapes committed in the ashram between 2001 and 2006. Asaram Bapu is currently serving a jail term for molesting a 16-year-old girl in 2013.
