AHMEDABAD: India smashed New Zealand in the third match of the T20 series. Shubman Gill, who was blamed for his lack of form, return to his form today. Gill scored century in 54 balls to become the fifth Indian player to score a century in three formats.

Gill today surpassed Virat Kohli's record of the highest T20 score of 122 off 61 balls against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup last year. Gill remained unbeaten on 126* off 63 balls. He smashed 12 fours and seven sixes today. With this, 23-year-old Gill became the youngest player to score a T20 century.

Gill, who scored a double century in the ODI series earlier, was criticized for not being able to rise up to that form. Today's innings actually became a response to this. Meanwhile, the record of India's biggest T20 score against New Zealand was also born at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India scored 234 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs. Chasing a target of 235 runs, New Zealand seems to be having a tough time by Arshdeep and captain Hardik Pandya. They lost four top wickets before completing 10 runs. New Zealand team got dismissed for 66 runs in 12.1 overs and India clinched the series.
