THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister GR Anil said in the assembly that the E-Pos machine for ration distribution in the state are deliberately damaged to extend the date of distribution during the month end. The ration dealers are allowed to take any SIM of their choice as there are often connectivity issues. During the month end, more people come to buy ration and it becomes a problem. 9.5 lakh people bought ration on January 31st. IT experts discussed with NIC to solve the technical problem.

50,000 priority ration cards will be distributed in the state soon. Three-month arrears of Rs 189.37 crore will be paid to 27,815 farmers for paddy procurement within a week. Minister Anil informed that Rs 400 crore is to be received from the Centre in this regard.
