THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala assembly meet on Thursday resulted in turmoil as opposition MLA blames the government for the floods in Kerala. The opposition alleged that dams were not opened at the right time and water-level was not controlled after the start of monsoon rains due to indifferences between ministers.

Dams were opened during the time of high tide. Rescue missions were started only after the water has receded. The government’s argument that the rescue mission was efficient from the start itself was baseless. It is clear from the pictures of disaster-hit areas. The government was a failure in arranging boats and helicopters. Rescue mission started only after the army came forward.
