THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government will send ministers to foreign countries in October to collect fund for flood-relief.
One minister and required number of officials will be sent to each country. The countries aimed are UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Singapore, Malasia, Australia, New Zealand, UK, Germany, USA and Canada. The ministers will visit these countries and collect funds, the chief minister has informed at a press conference on Friday.
As the resolution passed by the Assembly points out, the rehabilitation and rebuilding of Kerala is a challenge. If we stand united, we can take up that challenge, there is no doubt about it. It has also been decided to raise fund with the cooperation of NRIs from different parts of the country. Ministers and officials will be given special charge for this,” he said.
Funds from individuals and organisations will be collected between September 10 and 15.
As a precursor to this, collectors will convene meeting of department heads in their respective districts on September 3.

Funds from educational institutions will be collected on September 11. Public Education and Higher education department will be in charge of this.

Families with damages house utensils will get up to One lakh from banks for repairing them. The government will bear the interest charges under this scheme. For this, government will make deals with consortium of banks
Internationally famous KPMG will appointed as consultant partner in the project to rebuild Kerala; its service will be free.
Before Mandala-Makaravilakku season starts on November 17, roads to Sabarimala and Pamba surroundings will rebuild in a time-bound manner. The project for this will be handed over to TATA project Ltd.
200 fishermen will be appointed as coastal warden in police.
